Tracing Patterns Poem by Fiona Davidson

Tracing Patterns

As daylight fades breathing slows
Settling into a steady rythmn
Eyes close and rest descends
Like the blanket tucked around you

Soothing hands trace patterns
Softly across your weary brow
Rest my angel with the guardians
They hold your soul gently tonight

Overwhelming tiredness creeps
Through the windows to your side
As light fades to shadows dancing
Over the walls to your tender heart

My fingers will remain tucked into yours
Until it is time to leave this room and soar

A tear trickles down my face as I read the sadness that envelopes me in reading these words.....A heart tugging poem that reaches out with both hands...to you Sue x
