Treason Again… Poem by Tsira Gogeshvili

Treason Again…

Rating: 4.5

TREASON AGAIN… (isev gautanloba)

Again betrayal,
Treason and racket.
A sage – clad
In a straitjacket…

The spoiled landlords
Demand taxes and costs.
To chum up with a grabber
A poet is forced.

The flatterers and slaves
Think themselves upright,
Against the kindness
The deceitful fight.

The orphan’s late bread
Isn’t baked nowadays,
“I’m the rich-man’s brooch, ”
The king complains.

“His majesty” doesn’t care
For the man that is old,
And the rooster, too,
Thrice has crowed.

Dear Tsira, it's your first work, I've read, that isn't romantic. Very powerful! Is it about your president? Konstantin.

Definitely a world of the haves and have nots...A sad statement about humanity I must say. Best wishes for the new year...Jeff.

The topic of treason is not discussed often enough. It is one of the most important issues related to mankind. And, it is one of the few issues which really has meaning to the human race. The poem was fine, the issue was better. GW62

I like the social issue in that poem. Class struggle will never end.

...the rooster may perhaps crow...but justice never gets baked for the poor and the down trodden...powerful voice heard in those last eight lines...ten
