Admist the cheerful blackbirds song,
Time stood still not moving on,
Thoughts took me to those days of past,
A childhood loved that moved by fast.
Beneath the warmth of sun we'd sit,
We never even mentioned it,
That one day we'd be old and grey,
Just lived the moment every day.
Butterflies would kiss the flowers,
We'd sit and chat for many hours,
Make daisy chains to wear back home,
I loved those days now sadly gone.
Amongst my special memories treasured,
A childhood filled with pure pleasure,
I know they were my favourite days,
Filled with love in every way.
