Trouble In Toytown - Poem by Bill Smith

Trouble in Toy Town
A desolate Ken knelt crying,
As he cradled Barbie's head,
God knew where her body was,
His fair haired lover dead,
Mr Plod was head of investigation,
The suspect list continued to grow,
He knew it wasn’t Tinky or Winky,
But he didn’t trust that Po,
Bob the Builder had been there,
As had Postman Pat,
Maybe that was where,
Noddy lost his hat,
Superman had an alibi,
Seems he was with Miss Lois Lane
Action Man had the weapons,
But what had he to gain?
Everyone in Toy Town,
Had a tale to tell,
Even the Ninja Turtles,
Had dipped in Barbie's well,
Looked like she was not fussy,
Always played it cool,
She’d even had a go,
In the field with Muffin the Mule,
Looked like the investigation,
Was due to take some time,
As the band of the Royal Marines,
Joined the end of line,
Accusations were flying,
In amongst the tears,
An awful lot of fingers,
Were pointing towards Big Ears,
Batman held on to Robin,
In a not unfriendly way,
Ken he screamed and hollered,
Someone has to pay.
Andy Pandy under questioning,
Confessed to being a Peeping Tom,
Sat outside Barbies with his binoculars,
Watching the carryings on,
He remembered very clearly,
The night Zebedee went boing,
And Babar the Elephants trunk,
Went somewhere it didn’t belong,
Disclosing facts that should have been secret,
Andy Pandy held nought back,
Stretch Armstrong apparently,
Liked it round the back,
Sooty and Sweep kept quiet,
Even Plod could understand,
They could not be guilty of murder
Without a helping hand

Questions questions questions,
So many to be asked,
The suspect list dwindled,
As the days slowly passed,
The Indians blamed the Cowboys,
While Tiny tears wept,
It was becoming obvious,
Plod was plain inept,
Or being very clever,
As Andy Pandy was to tell it,
Where do ya think old Plod
Laid to rest his helmet,
The finger of suspicion shifted,
As Plod felt the glare,
Now everyone in Toy Town,
Knew that he'd been there,

Pending further inquiries,
Plod is now suspended,
New friendships had been forged
And reputations defended
Scooby Doo married Dumbo
A match not made in heaven
Snow White made dreams come true
By sleeping with all seven
Seems Dopey has a reason
For the long coat that he wears
Apparently there’s a thud thud
As he climbs the stairs
Bill and Ben flob a dobbed
All over Little Weed
And Superman it seemed
Had sown super human amounts of seed
Tigger confessed with shame
He’d bounced with Winnie the Pooh
Basil Brush ran off with Mr Potato Head,
In a threesome ….with the woman…. from the shoe
