Truth Has No Defense Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Truth Has No Defense

When lies are told effectively,
Truth has no defense.
And facts to disclose as evidence.
Compete to delude.
With those convinced,
An animated and bow tied mouse...
Smiling and dancing about,
Would not exist.
If proof of it had not been seen to witness.
And they have pictures,
Taken to valid this.
With them and the mouse posing together.
As others awaiting in a long line,
Doing their best to remain patient.
As another mouse,
Dressed in a poka dotted dress...
Calmly answers questions,
About how she manages to look so young.

"We knew you wouldn't believe it.
That's why we asked a moose looking goofy,
To get our visit captured in photos.
You see.
There we are.
Why do you shake your head?
Unbelievable, huh? "

-Incredible.
Beyond belief.-

"You had to have been there."
