Try Staying To Remain Respectful Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Try Staying To Remain Respectful

Try staying to remain respectful.
With it done to do,
Sincerely to mean.
And you may be treated as a fool.
As they attempt putting,
On your back their burdens to carry.
Like you are the jackass.
The one dumb and the mule.
Who is weak.
And thought of as one,
In need of attention sought to seek.
Listen clearly to the talk.
Coming from those who claim,
They walk in faith.
Hear them say how phony 'you' are.
When everyday they backstab.
And also lie to others.
With it done right in their faces.
But call themselves "Christians".
Not to know what it takes,
To get to that place to express love.
And respect to those,
You know too well fake.
A romance more enjoyed with demons,
Occupying their vacant minds.
But you must all the time,
Try staying to remain respectful.
Around those you already know,
Are blind to the power of God.
