Uncovering The Profound Strangeness Of Language
We are often lulled into sleep by
Conventional language, on autopilot
That's why poets wake us up by
Uncovering its profound strangeness.
Delicately chiselled phrases
Break up language's immense
And monolithic marble and stone
Until a certain beauty emerges
Until the perfect form is realised
And life is remade in each stanza.
