Uninvited Is The Visit Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Uninvited Is The Visit

Forgiving to do it?
Easier it becomes to say.
With the word of it heard,
And meant when said...
Less hesitated.

However...
What seems to stay remembered.
Not to erase an act of misdeed,
To leave completely and go away.
Is a forgetting.
That forgiving to forget business,
Has a way to repeat...
An occasional uninvited visit.

"I'm baaaccckkk!
Here to test,
Both your tolerance and patience."

Forgiving to forget?
That to do,
Has of yet not proven...
A doing to be forgotten.
Regardless of the attempts to try,
Over and over again to fail.
Even with sincerity to express it,
Can have some to plead...
For a doctor to increase the dose,
Of a prescribed medication...
That provides 'instant',
Not timeless release...
Guaranteeing to free their minds.
Yet left to regret,
Smiling at everyone...
They neither know nor ever met!

"God?
Yes. Yes, it's me.
God, I am doing the best I can,
From not wanting to slap the ssshhh...
Stuff! Out of somebody.
Who I will not name.
Unless...
You demand from me,
To be a 'name dropper'.
But God...
Please.
Show me what it is I should do.
Other than overdose,
On medications I don't need to use."
