Unquestionably Unique Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Unquestionably Unique

If anyone known,
To have had a reputation...
As a liar.
Thief, deceiver and cheat.
Lacking moral qualities.
And displays an ego beyond belief.
Then selected to be leader and chief.
Of a law abiding entity.
With a gaining of support to give loyalty.
How is it possible,
Someone like this...
Could have many await to hear,
Responsibility taken for their actions.
Admitting this to announce,
With honesty and sincerity expressed.

However...
This left to go unaddressed
Leaves many feeling disappointed.
Their expectations have not yet been met.
To then be heard complaining,
Amongst themselves...
What true leadership means to them.
As if debating it in public forums,
Will make a difference to one who leads.
And agrees to what is being said.
Yet has no clue,
Who the people are talking about.
Or why decisions to have been,
Impulsively made...
Are not given standing ovations.
Adulation and praise for delivering,
Innovation that has created...
Something done unquestionably unique!

"I can not believe,
The people are cheering...
Whatever this is! "

-It is in the presentation.
And the entertainment factor.
Each performance,
Has been effectively produced.-

"Okay.
You get no argument from me.
I've been told,
I look too much for substance.
And details associated to truth.
I'm not seduced by this nonsense at all."

-There you go again.
Always finding a way to be negative.
And talk about
How mentally stable people use to be,
Back in times gone no longer to exist.-
