Untitled - Poem by Amanda Schmidt

I know you still love me;
I can see it in your eyes.
Yet I also see grief;
The result of my goodbye.
I hate myself for that;
And I realize my mistake.
It tears me up inside;
But I know it is too late.
What can I do for you;
To ease that terrible pain?
I'll stand outside your house;
If you wish, out in the rain.
I hate that you're hurting;
Though I know that I'm to blame.
You've done so much for me;
I destroyed you in a flame.
That's how I repayed you;
Though I don't even know why.
I still love you so much;
I'm alone, that's why I cry.
I drive myself crazy;
Loving you the way I do.
I know that you are perfect;
You're just too good to be true.
