Unwrap My Candy Poem by Paula Glynn

Unwrap My Candy

I am sweet and look good, too,
I am just me, wild and free,
And never feel that famous blue,
I dance to music at night,
And dress up in cosmopolitan clothes,
For I am in vogue, in fashion,
And in people's hearts,
I am truly a fashionable work of art.

I don't need drugs or alcohol,
To enjoy tonight,
For I am secure in myself,
And just want to have a good time,
I am light-hearted and I smile sweetly,
And I flirt like the best,
And it really is no test,
For I don't play those games,
And I am not a player,
I just tease people,
With my flirtatious ways.

I want you to unwrap my candy,
As you kiss this lipstick smile,
That drives others wild and makes them giddy,
For I am fun, fun, fun,
And I don't need to run, run, run,
For I am having the time of my life in this life,
And I taste all the colours of the rainbow,
As I go for my pot of gold,
And this heart never grows cold.

I am richer than all the diamonds,
And pearls in the world,
And I am gaining my reward,
For seeing reality as a place I can enjoy,
For I live for myself and gain my own emotional,
And material wealth,
And as day passes day,
I stop to look and think,
What do I say to you,
To make to come over to mine?
You have helped make my path clearer,
But I won't bow,
For even though I want you to unwrap my candy,
I want you to know,
That is is about the here and now,
And I want your body, not your heart:
At least for today and maybe tomorrow.
