Upbeat Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Upbeat

Turn it on.
And leave it at an upbeat.
To feel it strong.
A keeping of an upbeat.
From dawn, noon and all night long.

Unloosen that buckle,
Tightened to your back.
Strapped...
To all crap packed and carried.

Let it go.
Why hurry to be worried.
Let it go.
Why should you rush to be locked up,
In a mess not yours to run amuck.
To leave you in the middle of it...
Stuck.

Turn it on.
A keeping of an upbeat.
And choose to refuse...
To have crap packed on your back strapped.
Choose to refuse to...
Have crap strapped to your back packed.

Keep it upbeat.
Lighten that load on your back to keep,
Worried about tomorrow.
Or sorrows dragged around from yesterday.
Let it go.
Why hurry to be worried?
Let it go!
Why should you rush to be locked up,
Stuck!
In the middle of a muck not yours.

Keep it upbeat.
From dawn to noon and all night long.
Keep it upbeat.
From dawn to noon and all night long.
Keep it upbeat.
Keep it up.
Keep it upbeat.
Keep it up.
From dawn to noon and all night long!

Be...
Positive about it.
Keep...
Positive about it.
Be...
Positive about it.
Keep...
Positive about it.
From dawn to noon with a keeping strong!
