Valentine's Day Heartache Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Valentine's Day Heartache

Rating: 5.0

How I long for a touch of a hand
Embracing me from tragedy
To stop the crying out into the night
Without a sound
So, I wouldn't upset the balance
Of my home
When I see the love and joy
Of someone else
I want to bury my head
Inside a pillow
And suffocate myself to stop
The weeping
Hoping the day doesn't drag on
I watch the dawn appearing
Instead of enjoying the sun's optimistic light
I dread it in solitude

LeeAnn, you have so magnificently expressed the anguish of loneliness! My hat off to you for Poet's Notes. You hold your gift of writing so close to your heart that you would never destroy it!
