The world once pristine, oh how it did gleam
with virgin nature so pure and serene
untouched by man, it flourished with life
with mountains, seas and forests so rife.
But then came the people, with axes and saws
and the virgin nature began to pause
the trees fell, the oceans turned gray
the mountaintops diminished day by day.
Nature cried out as the damage was done
But man kept on, fueled by greed and fun
The air grew heavy, the water is unclean
and the serene terrain had now become hostile.
