Virtual Reality Poem by Bharati Nayak

Virtual Reality

Rating: 5.0

I live always in the vitual
For each moment I live
Becomes a past the next moment
I can not go back to the moment passed
Nor can I live in my future
The moments I will live
Only in an imagination
A moment of my dream
That may come or not
But I live in that moment
In that dream
When I build a castle
With garden of stars and moon
And a kingdom of perfect peace

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Daniel Brick sent a comment on this poem throughe-mail I would like to share it with readers-
'This is a sonnet - 14 lines, withwhat the Italians call a VOLTA or change of focus in line 8. In the first seven lines you reason PHILOSOPHICALLY, step by step you cautiously argue the power of TIME over our human lives. The language is cerebral, with no emotionalbase. But with line 8 you switch to VISIONARY FLIGHT, barriers collapse, and you achieve
liberation in this vision: "... I build a castle / With a garden of stars and moon / And a religion of perfect peace." I felt the charge of emotion in lines 8 -,14. Your poem earns its visionary status by declaring its vision after securing a cerebral base. It's now an arrow pointing into the Heavens. Let fly! '

Present is very precious in life. Past is past and future is uncertain, so we have to act according to present need. We dream for uncertain future.as it is human nature. You have nicely delineated about time and dream. It may be cited... I can not go back to the moment passed / Nor can I live in my future / The moments I will live / Only in an imagination Beautiful poem.10

Thank you Dilip for reading, commenting and rating mypoems (always 10s) . Regarding my poem 'Virtual Reality', I must say our thoughts and perceptions are virtual. Science/magic can change our perception of a thing.A truth is what we perceive them to be true. Please keep reading and inspire me through your valuable comments.

A poem that contains, observation, wisdom, meditation, and dream and peace is destined. Very beautiful poem. Some similar thoughts I share in my poem BUBBLES, though that is less poetic.

this gets me thinking, bharati, about the nature of present reality—so fleeting. i have found that to experience it fully is a spiritual gift that comes in moments. but such moments resonate, ripple, echo, teach us what clarity is. -glen
