Voice Of Reason Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Voice Of Reason

Rating: 2.8

At the edge of devastation
Hope stood in silence
Mortified and beaten
Like a king dethroned

How could it be?
That, rivers forgot to flow
That rooks forgot to crow

How did it get
From laughter to hush
From love to loss
From life to death

Then the voice of reason spoke
What is life if not a test?
Where is learning if not in pain?
What victory means, without defeat?
Where is knowledge if not in change?

Every thing is recognized due to its contrast. Life is attractive due to death. Ghalib says- - - - - - - - - Hawas ko hay nishat kar keya keya, Na ho marna to jeene ka maza keya. Your poem is thoughtful.
