Voice of the homeless
It was time that they raised their voice
Because being homeless was not by choice
A bad economy took it s toll and put him out in the cold.
His apartment could be lock ed and his possession s sold
This is what he was told.
If you don't pay your fair share, creditors will not care.
We are just numbers thrown into a data base
there is no person that could see your face.
This is the digital Era and technology is on the rise,
and if you lose everything to me it's no surprise.
There are more homeless now than ever before
And if we don't raise our voices
the machines will win the war.

This is a sad poem, especially this time of year. But I am happy that Salvation Army is there, helping the needy get through the holidays with a bit of hope. This is not a quick-fix solution situation. It will take a massive, multi-pronged effort to obtain change. Thank you, Louis, for speaking up about this!
thank you my sister in CHRIST for your comment on this one poem of many I've written on the homeless
