Walker, Texas Ranger Poem by Paula Glynn

Walker, Texas Ranger

Walker, Texas Ranger being clever and quick
Cordell Firewalker a Texas Ranger Sergeant
A former dolphin trainer with a strong stomach never sick
An elite Force Reconnaissance unit the ultimate test
A modern-day Ranger, to fighting no stranger
Who believes in the Code of the Old West
A decorated Vietnam vet and a martial arts expert
Walker, Texas Ranger the fighting best.

Under care of parents John and Elizabeth Firewalker
Until the innocent age of 12 years old
Parents killed by a trio of white supremacists with hearts cold
Facing brutal bullying but with help from Billy Grey Wolf
Name in Cherokee language being Washoe
Rightfully meaning 'lone eagle' with spiritual devotion
Cordell learning to fight in US Marines, his fighting supreme
Learning toughness and strength within his emotions.

Known as 'Jimmy' or 'Go Long Trivette'
James Trivette being Walker's long term work partner
Growing up the popular one in Baltimore in Maryland
His older brother Simon appearing in episode 'Brothers in Arms'
As a young man he was a famous football player
Almost like a vampire slayer: that is what his classmates thought
A member of the Dallas Cowboys until a shoulder injury ended his career
James ending up Cordell's partner his loyalty not needing to be bought.

Trivette taking the place of Walker's old partner Bob Mobley
A character killed during a robbery in the same episode
First episode of the series 'One Riot, One Ranger in Fort Worth'
Trivette ambushed and nearly killed but saved by his future partner
Walker's gruff character making it difficult with their initial partnership
Trivette is forced to work hard to gain his respect and trust
But they later become loyal and long standing friends they do not sell
Trivette very computer savvy: much more than Cordell.

Alex a deputy district attorney with her past told:
Her sadly deceased mother having raised her without her father
Due to his alcoholism and abandonment
But she does have powerful ambitions
Unfortunately making enemies in her line of work
Often taken hostage to get Walker's attention
Walker to provide quick and clever deflection
Alex proving legal documentation and the paperwork.

Alex and Cordell meeting in a court
Having had their differences but Alex does split with her partner
Cordell and herself do end up happily married
Their line of work bringing them together
Cordell Alex's tether during the difficult times
Constantly fighting the devious criminals
Also gaining justice for the wrongly accused
Alex respected by her peers and never used.
