Want To Be Poem by Josh Burnett

Want To Be

I want to be the sun in your life,
And let the warm rays hit you in the face.
I want to be your stars at night,
When everything seems faded away.
I want to be the arms that hold you tight,
When you can't bear all your pain.

I want to be the one you're with.
For the rest of time that we have to live.
I want to be your beating heart,
When you feel like you're falling apart.
I just want us to be.

I want to be the hand,
That will brush away every tear you cry.
I want to be the one who can make you understand,
When you can't explain the reason why.
I want to be the only man,
Who will fight when you can't try.

I want to be the one you're with.
For the rest of time that we have to live.
I want to be your beating heart,
When you feel like you're falling apart.
I just want us to be.

I want to be the eyes so you can see,
When you can't see at all.
I want to be your ears,
So you can hear my call.
I want to be your legs,
So you don't fall.

I want to be the one you're with.
For the rest of time that we have to live.
I want to be your beating heart,
When you feel like you're falling apart.
I just want us to be.

I want to be the name,
When you say I love you.
I want to be the change,
And I want to be the tried and true.

I want to be the one you're with.
For the rest of time that we have to live.
I want to be your beating heart,
When you feel like you're falling apart.
I just want us to be.
