Wanting Poem by Kayode Are

Wanting

From the mobile set, words flow in a torrent
As the voice on the line teases and stirs a current
I want, I want, it seems to plead, in a seductive tone
Tossing pleasant traces of ecstasy across the phone

An encounter fruited from serial curiosity
She heard the myth of his queerness and piety
While the deficit of fun in a convenient conjugal union
Planted the seed of longing and artful seduction

A dangerous embrace occurred across moral filters
The bold, spicy and young stoked passion's flame
I will heed you only when you want, he dithers
Weighing consequence with cost to avert blame

The heart flutters in excitement as love and lust bristle
A match of fondling feasting and bonding ignores the whistle
You cannot love what you don't own chuckles Marcus Aurelius
As torrents of passion sweep the flailing beau to the sensuous
