On this day we celebrate,
The essence of all life,
A precious gift we often take,
For granted in our strife.
Water flows from mountain springs,
To rivers, lakes and seas,
It sustains all living things,
From smallest plant to towering trees.
It quenches thirst and cleanses dirt,
It cools us in the heat,
A source of joy, a place of sport,
It's power we cannot beat.
But we must remember,
Water is a finite resource,
Our actions can affect its splendor,
And alter its life force.
So let us be responsible,
And use it with great care,
For every drop that's full,
Is one that we must share.
On Water Day let's pledge,
To cherish and preserve,
The vital role it plays,
And the life it serves.
