We Are Fish That Can Swim Against The Streams

Rating: 5.0

Time always run forwards and never backwards.
Perhaps time has no heart to realize and regret its misdeeds.
We have a heart it feels,
It thinks,
it smiles
and,
it cries.
Time can never look backwards,
it's like waves produced in a river by a stone thrown into it
by an innocent and naughty child sitting on the bank,
playing the game of throwing stones in the river
and watching the dancing propagation of circular waves
coming to the bank and kissing his feet.
These circular waves
sometimes interrupt
the normal linear waves of life.
But we are fish,
living and loving in the flowing river.
We have a heart
that knows the art
of regretting its past
we can swim in any direction
we can restart with perfection
we can go back to the point
whereat we committed something wrong.
we know we cannot undo it now
but at least we can regret,
through our confession
without any lame excuses,
that we both were wrong.
I can assure,
with a sweet smile
that it will not be recurred.
I can write a promise on your heart
and affix a stamp on your lips
I am sure this sweet stamp
will produce linear waves
that will carry my message
to the softest corner of your heart.
I am sure you'll be forced to realize
that somewhere some times
you were also wrong.
Forget all that.
I don't need an admission or confession
I just need your silence in my arms
and a pressure of your bosom on my bosom
letting me know that even in the closest position
you want to come more closer to me.
We can go back
we can move forward
yes, we can be closer than the closest.
We can be dearer than the dearest.
We can be nearer than the nearest.
None of us is time
we are the fish that can swim against the streams.
Hurry up sweetheart!
The river of life is about to vanish in the ocean!

Wow to compare humans to fishes in analogy metaphor the way u have done in impressive muse and motivating words is great to read. Yes we can learn to swim against the tide, quite a challenge but possible. Kudos. Pls do leave your thoughts on my latest poem too, titled, 'To stand tall and proud yet to humbly bow'

But we are fish, living and loving in the flowing river. We have a heart that knows the art of regretting its past we can swim in any direction we can restart with perfection. Akhtar Sahab, i love this poem specially for the comparison made with a fish. Truly! Time only runs in one direction - forward and never backward. We as human beings can look back into the past either rejoice our actions or regret it. The poem flows like a serene river reflecting on various aspects of the human mind. Beautiful imagery We can be dearer than the dearest. We can be nearer than the nearest. None of us is time we are the fish that can swim against the streams. I am happy that we are not time but a fish that has the capacity to swim against tide. Wonderful Philosophy portrayed through this wonderful poem. A sure 100

This is a brilliant flow of time that runs forward and never this runs backward. This has really no heart to regret. Human being has a heart that gives feelings, smile and crying. This heart beats and holds memories and perception. We can swim and restart any work. We can attain perfection. River of life vanishes in the ocean and our ocean is God. Brilliant and excellent poem is shared here...10

Though Time moves only forward, we can go back to the past and regret over times when we went wrong....! This regret will help us take greater precautions not to repeat them. It will also give us a chance to ask forgiveness if we have wronged someone by word or deed. Thus we get a chance to cement relationships if there has been a crack somewhere! A meaningful poem with profound psychological implications!
