We Have Been Made Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

We Have Been Made

We have been made,
To find the time to waste it.
By getting involved in arguments.
We neither began.
Or started.
With them to end.
And leaving them solved.

We have been made to debate.
Into a screaming rage.
Until our faces twist into a hatred.
With words to shout,
Sailors would be embarrassed...
To say from their own mouths.
Heard by anyone near to hear come out.

We have been made,
To feel.
Enraged into an outrage of craze.
And expose this to show,
To those we've never met before.
Or have had the opportunity to know.

We have been made,
To criticize, pass judgement.
Ridicule and on others lie.
And upset for reasons kept denied.
To then expect,
Understanding and respect.
With acceptance.
We have been made,
To either neglect...
Or a thoughtlessness.
We have been made to believe,
We are neither deserving of it.
Nor from our activities should receive.
