We Have Changed But We'Re Still The Same. Poem by Lara W.A

We Have Changed But We'Re Still The Same.

Funny thing
We thought we've fully conquered
The fears, the nerves, the aspirations
Years passed by
Hearing the same songs on the radio
Smelling familiar scents
The rain drops, the same music you think of when it rains
The way coffee makes you feel
The same thoughts before you go to sleep at night
It's been, the same.

We're older, maybe wiser, maybe immuned, maybe a little scarred
But when that song is playing
And when we run in the rain
And when the whole world is silent and you look up the sky at night
That feeling, that overwhelming feeling only you know
We realize we're still the same
We haven't changed at all
And we still want the same things.
