Until The Day Poem by Lara W.A

Until The Day

there were two lovers
far far apart
million miles away
but so much in love
and she adored him
...like crazy
(and it still hurts to be saying that)
and she adored him
more than she loved those blinking stars
in her darkest nights
and she adored him
most ardently
most profoundly
most overwhelmingly
he was the only reality she had.

she loved him,
it was most apparent
she loved him,
and it showed
in her eyes, her laughters,
the way she smiled at 5 in the morning
the way she hummed in her long showers
the way she drove the car;
slower than usual,
to feel him in the songs on the radio.

but
she's,
afraid of herself
she's,
such a troubled loner
day by day her love for him grew deeper and deeper
and it sunk her
it scared her even more
she thought;
'what is this thing,
it messes with my senses,
it lifts up my frowns'
'what is this thing,
so strangely beautiful,
why do i feel undeserving? '

and it ended tonight
she walked out with so much pride and dignity
unexplained and misunderstood
she told him
'this is how it should be,
soulmates don't last forever'
and she smiled as she bid her last goodbye
but the smile was cracked and broken
and everything inside was sore
but nobody could tell,
she masqueraded it so well

and now shes crying herself to sleep
and the stars left her side
on the night she needed them the most
and she'll be crying herself to sleep
with or without
the lights or the knights
and she'll be wishing for invisibility
until the day she gets her heart back
she gave it away a long time ago,
her whole heart.
