We very old people
We enjoy drinking very hot
Coffee
And fumbling around the house
In our underwear
Watch some television
Listen to our old records
The kind of music
Young people
Don't know how to
Dance to

Sometimes
We don't eat very much
Not much to get involved in
Lack of activity!
People talking loud
But we miss
Much of what is being said


Unless we are wearing our hearing
Aids with the volume turned way up
Some of us
Look like ghosts
It's like we are already dead
Being totally ignored
Like we've already
Disappeared from the face
Of the earth!
