Welcome To Paradise...... - Poem by Adryan Barnathan

Loved one takes you by the hand
brings you to this promise land
now you both wear full time tans
and you stop making useful plans

Waiting, warming tired bones
you sit together but you are alone
chatting, reading, eating lunch
you are the fatal ones

Welcome to Paradise.

Pristine water, tourqois air
old ones come to spend their years
sitting, staring out their fears

Welcome to Paradise.

Do you know where you will go
when your bodies gone
and time moves on without you?

Welcome to Paradise.

    a lovely poem
    seeing clearly
how hopes and dreams are fine
    if they are the right
    hopes and dreams
not for white beaches and blue water
    but for life
    lived creatively
    on and on
    the time
    to discover
    that Paradise
    has already been attained
    in a fine poem
    or bench crafted with care
