Welcomed Poem by Linda Hepner

Welcomed

Rating: 3.9

Welcomed after absence, the returning queen
Meets maidens in her court who strew fresh scented flowers
And shower her with sweet dew praise.

But she must keep her mystery and height, she’s been
Much shrunken by enslavement in enchanted towers,
And strives to reclaim bygone days.

Or was it a stooped back from those low ceilings in the cottage with the seven dwarfs? Seriously, though, really cool poem. - chuck

I really loved reading this. Something I think most women will relate to. A poem of inner strength and hope. Hugs Anna xxx

Cleverly worked rhyme symmetry, Lind. For me, this as much unites the 2 halves of the tale as much as it sharpens their contrast. And the wistful and sorrowful tone of the second half has left me at least imagining all sorts regarding the queen's untold story. An enchanting sextuplet of lines, Lind! Warmly, Gina.
