Welcoming Night Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

Welcoming Night

Rating: 5.0

The last light of the sun has long gone
To hide behind the shadow of the horizon
Inside nests sound of birds has fallen thin
Their little skirmishes were not to be seen

The tall palms swung merrily in the breeze
As dark clouds on hilltops seemed to freeze
Sparkling dot of a star hung at the edge
Of the sky as below it the hill sat like a sage

Men have reached home back from work
Lamps were lit before it would be dark
Sound of bells came floating from homes
As owls sent hoots sitting upon the tombs

Silence was going to rule over the land
With rain of meteors the sky looked grand
World would be draped in a cloak of mist
Till dawn would break again in the East
