We're All Ghosts Poem by Paula Glynn

We're All Ghosts

Time is constant for everyone
Time waits for no woman or man
Time is a dimension of the universe
The earth a strange place leading towards supernatural
Where souls are reincarnated over and over
All learning great knowledge and wisdom.

The many galaxies spinning solar systems within
Untouchable stars and rainbow coloured nebula
The universe itself a massive moving force
With crushing gravity and magnetic power
Light that travels so fast it cannot be replicated
Our galaxy the one and only Milkyway.

Everyone wakes in the morning
Working days come and go
The sun shining hot in the sky
Some do the night shift
Nights come and go
The moonlight protecting those night owls.

We all know the ancient Egyptians are ghosts
We all know the ancient Grecian's are ghosts
Yet their stories are countlessly retold
Yet their immortal gods and goddesses
Fascinate people in the modern Western world
Tales told to every man, woman, boy and girl.

We all reach old age and all die on the stage
Time ticking by for this soul like my grandmother's clock
Wondering if I will be a legend: remembered always
And if I am reborn: wishful thinking
And I will never be found nursing that brandy: poisonous drinking
Seeing clearly the magic and wonder always soberly.
