What Autumn Means To Me Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

What Autumn Means To Me

Rating: 4.8

Like old people waiting for G-d
We watch the colourful leaves
Fall from the branches
We, then, watch the birds at play
as others fly south
And other animals wander looking for food
For they know that time of essence
As the cold weather will soon arrive
There's no warmth of summer left
But in a hot chocolate with whipped cream on top
With a piece of pumpkin pie
After a long walk in the brisk air
And the fireplace is full of rage
Roasting marshmallows on a cozy dark night
We fall asleep in front of the smoldering ash
And then, awake in the dimness
Refreshed for the dawn

Autumn is the best time of year, in my humble opinion. Thank you for this poem, LeeAnn.

Very nice! I've never liked pumpkin pie, but that hot chocolate sounds good on a cold day.
