What We Do For Love Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

What We Do For Love

Rating: 5.0

We scan a website for a new face
On our IPhones
We start a conversation at a local coffee shop
We depart
Wait for a couple days
And then, we phone them
But they ghost you
We cry a little because we really like them
And they had a common interest
We write poetry to lick our wounds
And decide to give up on love
Then, we get a phone call from them
Saying they were busy with work
And they would like to hook up
But we'll know how this would end
We say we're busy
And hang up
Because our heart isn't in for a booty call
But we can't hurry love
