What Can I Do - Poem by Wayne Bowen
I've walked the rocky roads of life
with peaks and valleys, toil and strife.
I've been in the valleys down and out,
where life looked bleak with no way out.
What can I do to see His face,
what can I do to feel His grace.
What can I do to hold His hand
What can I do to understand.
I've strayed from God awash in sin,
but He stayed with me to the very end.
He lifted me up when I was down,
through His grace my faith was found.
How can God's love be so strong
that He cares for me when I do wrong.
When my soul departs this house of pain
I'll be with Him when He calls my name.
When I finally leave this earthly place
I'll meet my Savior face to face.
I'll be with Him for eternity
because His love has set me free.
