What If, And Why? Poem by Eric Cockrell

What If, And Why?

what if there is
no land over yonder?
what if this is it?
what if our trials
and tribulations
are the destination,
not the journey?
what if tomorrow is a dream?
and today is all we have?
and how many times have you
seen God today, in stranger's faces,
in outstretched hands?

what if every thought,
every word, and every action
were tiny parts of eternity?
what would we do different?
and why dont we now?
