what if we were the dream of God

and something woke Him up

before he finished us


a star falling out of orbit

or a bird from its nest

a baby penguin that could get no rest


or the wind through the trees of Heaven.

oh please go back to sleep my little sister said

in this story


that's what I from the dream would have told Him

please leaning over the gate of dreams

and holding onto Mamas hand.
