What's In A Name, More Than You'd Think Poem by Sandra Feldman

What's In A Name, More Than You'd Think

Rating: 5.0

Some people have beautiful,
Sounding names.
Like Scarlett O'Hara, without which,
Her home, Tara,
Would have never, been the same.
All those, whose name is Rose
Must feel, velvety supreme
Close to Nature and composed,
Maria is Spanish for Mary
Who was told,
She was quite contrary
At least, that's how
Her nursery rhyme goes,
Bette stands for, Davis
The greatest
Dramatic Star of all Ages
And so on and so on,
Maybe your name is John
That does not make you
A Don Juan,
And if you are Narcissus
A beautiful, conceited man
Doesn't mean you have to
Take that road, nor play
His unrepentant hand.

Names do have connotations,
Producing certain assoiations
So save your reputation
And do what's right to do
Give honor to your name
So it positively, scans
in life'sroad, too
You'll be rewarded
With a good reputation,
Many problems avoided,
A happy good conscience
And Sensational Sensations
Of Peace and admiration.
