What To Do? - Poem by Michael P. McParland
What to do on these lonely nights longing for you?
I know our time will come and you'll be here
then holding each other tightly dancing under the
moon and stars with the night as our playground,
it is ours to enjoy dancing, lying out on the grass,
talking for hours ignoring the time that has passed.
Until that time though what to do on a long
lonely night of longing like this which
can be so very maddening and hard to deal?
What to do beyond the little tasks and chores
I already occupy my mind with in tedious time?
I just want you here spending time no matter
the things we're up to as long as you're by my side,
laughing and talking, fooling around and making trouble.
So what to do on a long tedious night of longing
for my amazing Angel bride?
I guess back to reading maybe a short tale of
creative writing to feed the soul and imagination.
Although satisfying not as much without you here
cowriting and sharing the fruits of our combined minds and labor.
What to do on a weary night of longing needing
you here in my arms passing the time with each other?
I must find something so time will move faster getting
me one step closer to seeing my Queen and kissing her everyday
from now through all eternity.
