When A Nerve Twitches - Poem by Michael Heraly

A striving for the riches
Surrendered to the stitches
Surgery on the soul
Botched and untrained
Procedure fails to heal

Finding all the glitches
Only when a nerve twitches
Invisible gives way to sight
The horror, the beauty
Living for eachother

Just one nerve twitches
Dominoes tumble into ditches
Spaces filled, overflow to empty
Never heals, infects
Defects in the wounds

Nerves twitch, nobody's rich
Follow the program, fit the niche
Nerves twitch, youth is lost
Nerves twitch, count the cost
Don't, oh don't, remove the stitch
