When Eagles Fall Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

When Eagles Fall

They will fall and not know why
Disaster ruled their treasured land.

As Truth and Faith was set to die
God released them from His Hand.

Thus they crawl where white doves cry
Their muted pleas will be in vain,

The nation lost, God, they deny
And pledged a partnership with Pain.

Profane words that degenerate
Obscene writing sealed their fate,

Soaring eagles shot with arrows
Swift the fall, great the sorrow.

i saw a comment you left at a poem from John Westlake in 2014, and i had a little contact with you before then. let me read one of yours again! and i have read it. i'm not too interested in using or trying to interpret symbolic writing. i assume you are not talking about birds! ok, i assume you are talking about some country with humans behaving 'badly', who have caused the downfall of the government or society as a whole. shame, shame! bad humans! i like alliterations, so i of course 'loved' this: And pledged a partnership with Pain. i hope i never do THAT! bri :)
