They met in a bar
or some small town cafe
perhaps on the outskirts of downtown L.A.
they may have met walking
or sat in a park
the greeting a smile
or an informal chat
Their names aren't important
you recognise them
maybe it's you
or some friend of a friend
a story line read in a book or a rhyme
the romantics of love
since the dawning of time
He smiled as she glanced
the blood rushed to her lips
he noticed the tingle in his fingertips
and the focus around them
was lost in a haze
as everything is
in those love heady days
He wanted to touch her
she felt her heart race
the pupils dilating in loves face to face
perhaps holding hands
would help steady the rush
and divert ones attention
of wanting to blush
You may have all seen it
or even been there
the romances of youth
are the same everywhere
and even the elderly fall in a spin
when love knocks the door
and demands to come in.
Sweet and lovely, Charlie, it's just as you have written. So nice to see more from you! Esther : ]
Very nice flow, from one line to the next, up to your usual greatness.... Splendid piece.
Hmmmm.........even the elderly - well then, there's still hope! LOL! Wonderful, sweet, nice flow and easy readability. Love your style, Charlie! Linda
