If only i could go right back,
straight to the very start,
When i was but a tiny child,
We'd never be apart.
We'd walk along the sandy beach,
the waves would crash and fall,
Into the pier where fishermen stood,
Behind the old stone wall.
And in the sky so blue, so clear
we'd hear the seagulls cry,
Oh how we loved to spend our days,
As summer passed us by.
If only i could go right back,
To then, those special days,
Eating ice cream on the beach,
On deckchairs bright and gay.
Alas those moments won't return,
Only in memories,
The finest days I've ever spent,
The best there'll ever be.
