When You Are Little Like You - Poem by Clive Blake

When you are little like you …
Everything is exciting,
Everything is brand new.

When you are little like you …
The world stretches out before you,
Creating a glorious view.

When you are little like you …
Everything seems possible,
There is nothing you cannot do.

When you are little like you …
Enjoy all of your childhood,
Don't be too eager to age,
For the best part of any novel
Is the very first page.

Topic(s) of this poem: child, childhood , children

Absolutely wonderful poem, childhood does not have the scars of life's cynics knife, their is still a sense of play and wonder. Truly the last stanza is the best. Thank you for sharing.! (Report)Reply
