Where Dragonflies Flew Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Where Dragonflies Flew

Thoughts take me back,
To all that has been,
Those precious moments of summer's long passed,
Sitting beside the cool woodland stream,
Where dragonflies flew,
The years have gone fast.

I remember the tree,
Where we loved to sit,
Lazing the summer hours away,
If I could go back,
And be there with you,
There's many things,
I long to say.

I'd tell you I love you,
I'd hold out my hand,
I'd tell you how life, with you was so grand,
We'd laugh like we did,
You'd give me your smile,
The one that I miss,
This life would be fine.

Those long distant summers,
When sunlight shone down,
I'll never forget them,
I never felt down,
For we spent our days,
Loving life back then,
I long for the day,
When I'll see you again.
