Where Marcus Aurelius Erred Poem by Eugene Levich

Where Marcus Aurelius Erred

He wrote in The Meditations,
writing only for himself, and
with no intention of publishing:

“All of us are creatures of a day;
the rememberer and the remembered alike.
All is ephemeral—
both memory and the object of memory.
The time is at hand when you will have forgotten everything;
and the time is at hand when all will have forgotten you.
Always reflect that soon you will be no one,
and nowhere.”

This is true for most of us,
but not for Marcus Aurelius.
He will be remembered
as long as human beings
can think and read.

maybe for a few hundred years a few thousand...? when we all turn wise and brilliant will we seek the timeless truth that others speak? I don't know but I just have to keeping speaking truth as I swim in the eternal river flowing to the sea of love blessings
