Last night I lay upon my bed
and thought about the things she said.
She doesn't love me anymore
and wishes that we'd never wed.
She's never said such things before,
which causes me these pains galore.
My future now's not looking bright
because she's showing me the door.
I've always tried to do what's right ----
can't comprehend my current plight;
confusion reigns within my head;
hello the darkness, goodbye light.
Deeply touching and poignant. Very well written and crafted.
Dear Rose Marie, thank you so much! You are incredibly kind.
Beautiful poem written from the point of view of a man, by a woman writer. Deserves appreciation.
Too bad only nobody ever saw this while it was member poem of the day, and only one person has commented on it since! Thank you, Cowboy Ron!
I love how you sometimes write from a man's point of view, sometimes as a little girl, sometimes a small boy. That takes considerable talent!
I see that the poem has now been chosen as member poem of the day (two days ago) ! Well-deserved and heartiest congratulations!
Best poem I have seen on this site for several months! I am amazed at your talent. Five stars but it deserves a whole sky full!
