Where Women Are Poem by Neela Nath Das

Where Women Are

Rating: 3.9

How could a country flourish,
where land is ignored?
How could a nation go ahead,
where women are insulted?
In our ancient land,
here every minute a woman
is being humiliated,
by perverts, motherhood
is stampede and embryo
if detected as being
girls soon is uprooted,
to make the world of men!
Alas! you, block-heads,
don't you know, who will
take the charge of earth,
if women turn extinct species?
Respect is the first word
for us which we claim
from you all, hey
you our world's
only earthly companion!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

They are a light that seeks to shine and be kept above all darkness, they are the engine of a non-static nation, they are the love brewed in a poet's heart, women are drivers of this rotating earth, that will never change, and the sooner man get to understand that, there sooner we men, get to dimish any pervet perceptions, alas this will shant be a greater placer to be, Thanks for sharing this write Seagul The_African_Son

With you all the way here Nil, women should be respected and given their proper place in society, no less than equal to men. Great write.

Neela, you say in your bio on PH that you are torn between pessimistic and optimistic thoughts. that sounds normal enough. now i am torn between making fun of the poem and women in general, AND not making fun. i guess if i value my safety at all i had better NOT make fun! you WOMEN are 'everywhere'! too bad for women (most women i guess) that they are, for better or worse, attracted to live with men in intimate union, even though many of us are such bastards! i try to not torture any one woman for TOO long. thus, i have had, one-at-a-time, four wives (one at this moment) and several 'girlfriends. see? i AM thoughtful! thanks for sharing. i respect you and this poem. :) bri p.s. PLEASE, women, do NOT become an extinct 'species'. i would miss watching you as you parade down the sidewalk. heh heh.

Isn't it ironic that as children we look to our mothers for leadership, guidance, and love; and yet, as we grow older we become more biased, judgmental, and condescending. This specifically applies to many men. Your poem brings awareness to this dilemma.

Good poem. Women are the vechicle that transport us to the world. They deserve our accolades.

Women nowadays are braver, but lot of them still suffering with bias of the treatment, some of them treat them unfairly, over(too high) treated and also low treat too...Some of women have lot of abusing problem, that we should stop, and some of them are openly not have right attitudes toward themselves, we should empower women to be wonderful community as we are human and we have rights to live harmony no matter who we are....brave to speak out when someone bullies, coz u have right to do so_Unwritten Soul
