White Dwarf Poem by Kewayne Wadley

White Dwarf

I am a star
that burns off in the distance.
hanging from a string I helplessly sit.
eventually me along with this string
will burn up.
Forever hidden from view.
While another star will be free
To hang in my place.
before this happens, I would like to move
closer to you.
pulled closer in your orbit.
To be somewhere in your nebula.
Far from where I am now.
To help guide one galaxy to the next.
Even in dust.
I am hung and placed far from the void
away from you.
eventually me along with this string
will burn up.
Eventually I'll twinkle close to you.
Shimmering in the light
