Who Am I.... Poem by Xelam Kan™

Who Am I....

Rating: 4.6

Who am I?
An angelic soul or Lucifer`s lamb?
In the midnight hours
When facing the fair sky,
I find my heart numbed with broken pride;
Like a forsaken bride
To whom her groom lied.
And I question my extreme sensitivity
Why it kills my calm and creativity.

All my charm and glory is gone–by
Like a darkness, wraps from the sky.
The hissing and rattling sound of the air
Pops up my fears and tears,
And echoes in an unheard melody;
Tense, distress and full of tragedy.
Why I have been stricken by worldly fame
That turned me into a devil's tame.

Ah! all my Quixote's schemes:
“To build an El Dorado upon Hades` realm”
Was a Judas` kiss.
Will I have that promised bliss?

I tell you, you are what you are for others to stand for what you stand for, confusion of oneself takes you to the world of wisemen

confusion about ones self that grew out of glum and distress is obvious...pessimistic tones are on high and have saddened the heart...a good piece of writing over all.

Hmmmmm a question of which most of us try to answer but never succeed, man, a blend of good and evil, God and devil, there is always a struggle inside between these two forces, very good write

This is a very powerful write Gulsher.... In few lines you have conveyed your existential angst! ! The poem ends with a weighty interrogation! ! At times we wonder if man is an angelic soul or Lucifer's lamb! !

Wow! Why I have been stricken by worldly fame That turns me into a devil's tame. I think that maybe fame and power are the hardest things to ressist. We can fight pain, hunger, or draught, but fame? Oh that could melt our soul into a proud mass of emptiness, the home of loveless...I have not read the book but I have found so many things to nod, your poem surely made me think and feel more than I'd do on a mere day. Thank you!
