Why Am I Thankful Poem by Colette Dright

Why Am I Thankful

Everyday is a Gift from God
Everyday is a day of Thanksgiving

He died so I could live
So I could have a better life
I refuse to waste it fussing, complaining or being unhappy.

With all that is going on in the world, there is so much we have to be thankful for. So, before we focus our time or energy on what we don't have, let's reflect on what we do have.

Why am I Thankful?

I am thankful for...
I am blessed
I am covered
I am healthy
I am healed
I am loved
I am strong
I am forgiven
I am wise
I am grateful
I am a child of God...

I am thankful for...
Family, friends
Wisdom, vision
Spiritual growth
Great health, hope
Peace, prosperity
Guidance, direction
Strength, patience
Love, joy... and all that good stuff!

I am thankful for...
God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Ask yourself - What are you thankful for?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Be thankful for each moment, each minute, each day. Life is too short to waste time complaining. Be grateful. Learn forgiveness, forgive your family and friends. So many people focus on what's wrong in their life far more than they focus on what's right. That only brings negative energy and negative vibes. Your happiness is within you. Do not depend on none else to make you happy. Enjoy your life to the fullest!
