Why must death mar life’s bright canvas
Of flowers, sunshine and blue skies?
Laughter, joy and pleasant mem’ries
Friendship, love and family ties.
And why must it invade this world
Where innocent babies are born?
All wide-eyed with innocent cries,
Like motley flowers that adorn.
Where at times the timeless rainbow
Spans the gorgeous, spacious skies.
And the canvas dons every hue.
And the majestic of fowls fly.
Midst all the beauty to unfurl…
Why must death so mar our world?
